Upcoming Changes with the Freelancer Referral Program

Effective March 4th, 2019 we will be discontinuing the FreeUp Freelancer Referral program.

Note: This does not affect the client referral program.

We will be reaching out to any active participants who have received a payment within the past four weeks with further information on this change. If you do not receive any emails concerning this change, it means that you were not an active participant in the program and did not have any funds due to you.

FAQ:

Why is the Freelancer Referral Program being discontinued?

We chose to discontinue the Freelancer Referral program for a few reasons, but not limited to:

1. Our recruiting systems have improved, and the program is no longer necessary
2. Low percentage of participation in the program
3. Fraudulent requests
4. Issues with payouts for fixed-price jobs.

How is this change good for FreeUp?

This change allows for more time spent actively attracting new clients to the platform. The most impactful goal for us now is to focus efforts on acquiring quality clients & opportunities for freelancers in our network to grow their client base.

What other ways can freelancers earn some extra money?

Our client referral program is still active. You can join our Client Referral program by grabbing your client referral code at your Referral Page. There you have the ability to earn $0.50 for every hour billed on the platform by clients you’ve referred to FreeUp!

Is there anything we need to do on our end?

There is no further action required. The freelancer referral program will end as of March 4th, 2020. We will remove the dashboard sections which reference this program. Please Note: All funds referenced in your dashboard have already been paid out. We closed this program after all funds were paid out in full.
