Organic vs. paid content? This is always a hot topic and one I get questions on all the time. While spending money seems like the easiest and most promising option, organic content can actually be a great way to bring customers (and money) to your business.

As you know, Organic content is essentially content you create for free. Your audience finds this content by searching for keywords. With that being said, you just need ways for people to find you. Below is the content framework we use and suggest you use as well.

Great content marketing has a beginning and if you are doing it correctly it does not have an end, you do not want it to end because you are getting highly targeted leads for very cheap, why would anyone want to stop that?

Podcasts

This is the foundation to a successful organic content lead producing machine for your agency. Podcasts have become more and more popular. They are a great way to get in front of your audiences and show them who you are and what you do. Doing a Podcast can seem overwhelming and out of your wheelhouse, but it is time for you to get out of your comfort zone and take advantage of this awesome tool.

Content Syndication

The term content syndication essentially means publishing your content in different places across the internet.

Youtube, Vimeo and Your Blog – Upload Video to popular Video hosting platforms like Youtube and Vimeo. Use BuzzSprout to syndicate your Podcast to all major platforms (iTunes, iHeart, Stitchers, etc…), use the Buzzsprout embed player in your blog with transcribed show notes and links to URLs mentioned during the podcast episode.

Repurposed Content

Recording the video opens up a lot of content opportunities. There are services available that allow you to take the video from your Podcast (or other source) and convert them into 1 – 2 minute video memes, audiograms, visual memes and more. Each Podcast should produce at least 5 – 7 video memes to be repurposed in all of your organic content efforts.

Setup a Google Drive or other filing system to house the content and overtime it will build a massive library for your agency to draw from for promotions, conversation starters, etc…

We found it is best to have 3 – 5 platforms that you learn to master overtime instead of attempting to be on every platform available.

Notice we did not say website optimization, yes you must do this as well but we mean optimizing the content on Youtube, Vimeo, SlideShare, etc… Do your research for keyword searches, title tags, hashtags, etc… and utilize each platform to build an optimized digital footprint across the internet supporting one blog article on your site.

When you combine the optimization of the other platforms and they are all pointing to your optimized blog article (podcast episode) you will start to see substantial organic rankings in a very short timeframe.
