Around 94 percent of users will reject a website based on poor design. This includes boring designs, uninspiring color choices and overly-corporate aesthetics. Working with the right graphic design freelancer is essential to your success as a business.
If you’ve ever wondered about the creator behind the stunning visuals that grace your favorite brands and websites, you’re not alone. Today we want to introduce you to one of our FreeUp graphic design freelancers Branka Stanic. Branka is a creative virtuoso who transforms ideas into stunning visual masterpieces.
Keep reading as we delve into Branka’s story.
Hey, my name is Branka, I’m a graphic designer from Belgrade, a beautiful town at the confluence of two great European rivers, the Sava and the Danube.
Belgrade is a vibrant city with a long tradition and a well-known European spirit. It has always been a great inspiration for me, both in life and design.
In my free time, I enjoy studying art, following the latest design trends, watching documentaries on various historical, religious and philosophical subjects, taking long riverside walks and spending time with my husband.
I’ve been working as a professional graphic designer for more than 5 years now, with an Associate of Applied Arts in Graphic Design degree.
After graduating from the Academy of Arts, I worked in marketing agencies for a short period of time, but soon realized that my temperament and sensibility were much better suited to being a freelancer. This type of work allows me to make the best use of my time, or in other words, to create the best balance between my personal and professional life.
In design, my focus is on branding, and my style is minimalism. But over the years, I worked successfully on many different graphic design projects, with many satisfied clients from a variety of industries.
I gained experience with almost every type of design project – from creating logos, ads, banners, flyers, posters, brochures, newsletters, pitch decks, packaging… all the way to social media and web design.
My main goal and the most important thing in my business has always been brand success.
On every project I’m working on, I’m giving my creative maximum and unique design approach. I’m always striving to be responsible, punctual, and goal-oriented.
It’s also very important to me that I always have a high level of business communication with my clients, that the projects are completed on time, and last but not least, that the interaction between me and the client brings a good business result.
Organization and discipline are crucial.
When you work as a freelancer, you have the full opportunity to organize your own time. But if you want to succeed, the most important thing is discipline.
Freelancing allows you to choose the place in the whole world from where you will work, and for me, this is a major privilege.
True freedom is when a person sets his own limits, and that is one of the best things that this way of doing business gives you.
When I talk about FreeUp, the first thing I always mention is that FreeUp is a platform that is 10 steps ahead of all others, and ultimately the only platform that I cooperate with.
I tried the others, but over the years FreeUp proved to be by far the best, the most professional, and the most friendly place for us freelancers.
I have always had full support for any problem, exceptional communication with FreeUp agents, and most importantly, a humane and kind attitude towards all of us who work as freelancers.
What I know and what my experience tells me is that you won’t find such a professional attitude towards people anywhere else, and that’s why FreeUp stands out from all other platforms out there.
In design, the most important thing is to have a clear picture of what is required of you and to know the brand’s target audience.
Every brand is unique and that said, it requires a unique design approach.
The designer’s task is to understand the message and to offer a high-quality visual solution. And the main goal is to convey the brand’s message through design.
In order to achieve that step by step, the first and most important thing is communication. To know exactly what the client’s preferences and stylistic criteria are. To get to know the brand itself, industry and the market. To get familiar with the brand’s target audience. Only then, the creative process and bringing the brand to life should begin.
For me, the interview process is a very good way to get to know the client and to try to present myself and my work in the best way possible.
I like to emphasize my positive qualities, my graphic design background, and to make a good first impression because the initial interview is the only opportunity you will have to do so.
The main advice is to always try to give your professional best. Work on yourself, learn new things, upgrade your skills and keep up with the times and trends.
Your business will develop and progress only if you personally develop and progress.
And the best time to do something is now.
Through my professional work, I have worked with many clients so far. Both small and large.
And through creative, recognizable and unique designs, I truly believe I helped many brands to amplify their influence, reach their target audience and achieve business goals.
The greatest satisfaction is when at the end of the year I receive praise for my work and confirmation that the business plans have been realized. Then I am sure that I am doing the right thing and that all this makes sense.
